The Hyundai Nuvis ConceptĀ is the eleventh signature concept car designed for the company in California Design Center in Irvine, Calif. In addition to show the mark-edge capabilities, Hyundai Concept NuVision also hint at a possible design direction of a future generation crossover, combining the attributes of a great city car and a premium vehicle.

Pursuant to the commitment of Hyundai leads all trademarks of the United States in fuel economy by 2015, NuVision is powered by Hyundai Blue Hybrid Drive architecture, which uses the revolutionary technology of lithium-polymer batteries .

EVOLUTION OF THE DESIGN

In developing the initial sketches, Hyundai has considered the interaction between the designers of natural, more fluid with the rigid surfaces and structures to create the illusion of constant movement. In particular, the designers studied how water separates and through the flow around the hull and sides of a boat, the creation of a suite, or how the wind shapes a snowdrift or flurries to through the trees. The power of life of these elements is reflected in the NuVision Design.

“Our goal was to create a living machine, constantly in motion, the driver and passengers could be part of,” said John KRSTESKA Hyundai Design manager. “There are no lines on this car or are still standing. ”

In addition to invoking the irrepressible sense of movement, the Hyundai design team has taken more than practical issues into account. NuVision Hyundai Concept is designed to reflect the diverse interests of a modern, active couple. The NuVision is supposed to be at ease from his day to a desert retreat, to reach the ski slopes in the afternoon and then cruise to a formal dinner that evening.

The design team sought to create a vehicle that would complement its environment, without having a negative impact. The versatility of the design of the vehicle, combined with Hyundai technology Hybrid Blue Drive, performs exactly that.

The nine major components of Hyundai’s Hybrid Blue Drive include:

  • An efficient 30kW electric motor, delivering 205 N-m of torque
  • A regenerative braking system
  • An integrated starter generator that enables the engine to turn off at stops and restart automatically under acceleration
  • A breakthrough lithium polymer battery package, with 5.3 Ah of capacity at 270 volts
  • Optimized Theta II 2.4-liter engine
  • 6-speed automatic transmission with an improved-efficiency electric oil pump
  • Weight-efficient architecture coupled with a low drag coefficient
  • Electric air conditioning compressor
  • Hybrid power control unit
